Standardizing processes can improve the reliability of care delivery. This commentary discusses the use of standardized kits with necessary medications and equipment for emergent situations and describes factors that can reduce the effectiveness in this approach, such as leaving partially complete kits available and failure to ensure medications in the kits have not expired. Partnerships with hospital pharmacists are encouraged to increase the value of the standardized kit strategy.
