Intra-operative monitoring—many alarms with minor impact.

The vast majority of warnings generated by anesthesia equipment were clinically irrelevant. In this study, one alarm occurred every 2.9 minutes during the surgical procedures observed, implying that the risk of alert fatigue was likely quite high.
