Implicit biases against people of color can affect quality of care including diagnostic delay, hospital-acquired infections, and obstetric morbidity and mortality. This review summarizes the impact of healthcare providers’ racial and ethnic implicit biases on health outcomes. The authors also provide recommendations for future research.
