Fast forward rounds: an effective method for teaching medical students to transition patients safely across care settings.
Transitions in care between inpatient and outpatient settings are an increasing concern for patient safety, and professional societies are dedicating resources to address the issue. In teaching institutions, there is growing emphasis on implementing systems-based practice curricula for trainees to similarly highlight the importance of patient safety principles.
