The promise of health information technology has yet to be fully realized due to a myriad of factors, including vendor and organizational issues. This commentary outlines how clinicians can collaborate with their health systems to enhance safety of electronic health record–enabled patient care. Tactics suggested that could facilitate improvement include participation in safety huddles and raising concerns.
