Artificial intelligence (AI) is apt to have safety and security ramifications across a multitude of industries including health care. This executive order from President Joseph R. Biden calls for broad oversight to ensure the development and implementation of AI is done justly and responsibly. Specific areas of emphasis related to patient safety include the development of an AI safety program in partnership with federally-certified patient safety organizations.
