This study describes the development and validation of an oncology trigger tool, modeled after the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Global Trigger Tool, to capture adverse drug events during cancer care. The final tool included 22 triggers and achieved high interrater reproducibility, but had only a modest 20% positive predictive value.
