This study describes an electronic intervention to identify patients coprescribed opioids and benzodiazepines and provide clinicians with taper and safety recommendations. The intervention significantly reduced the proportion of patients coprescribed opioids and benzodiazepines. The authors conclude that electronic health record–delivered interventions have potential to improve safety.
