Nurses are encouraged to call rapid response teams if they are concerned about a patient's condition or if certain objective criteria (e.g., vital sign abnormalities) are met. This analysis conducted at six Australian hospitals found that nurses' general concern about a patient was the most common reason the team was called, and these patients generally had better clinical outcomes.
